Kate Mentink – the Councillor of Tourism and Foreign
Affairs in Calvia Townhall and the director of the department
of European citizens in the Ministery of Immigration and
Cooperation in Palma. We present the power-women behind
all these projects.

Kate Mentink, born 9. 4. 1944 in Edinburgh,
Scotland
2006 - Appointed as responsible for the new created
Department of European Citizens in the Ministery of
Immigration and Cooperation.
2003 -
Appointed as Councillor for Tourism and Foreign Affairs
in Calvia, the latter being a new department within
the Spanish administration.
2002 - Joins the Partido Popular team to contest the local
elections in Calvia, Majorca.
1994 - Founder and President of the Baleares Association
of Ciudadanos europeos (European Citizens), remaining
as lifetime honorary President. During this first year
offices were opened in Palma de Majorca, Ibiza and
Menorca. The Association has its main objective the
social, cultural and political integration of non Spanish
Europeans resident in Spain.
1993 - Appointed to the Founding National Committee of the
Association of Ciudadanos Europeos (European Citizens).
The association reached membership of over 56.000.
1991 - Appointed Balearic representative of the Foreign Property
owners based in Valencia.
1982-1988 - Based in Majorca, commenced and developed the representation
of foreign (non Spanish) companies and clients with
projects in Spain and the Baleares, in particular in
Majorca and Golden Chain S.L. based in Calvia, Majorca.
1979-1982 - Joint Director in the development and construction
of hotels throughout Europe, Africa and North America
(British Caledonian).
1972-1979 - Joint founder and Director of Penta Hotels (World
wide).
1966-1972 - Business career at Senior Director level including
industrial, commercial and retail experience including
personnel Director at “Liberty´s”,
London, university lecturing and consultancy work in
the field of management selection and training.
1965-1966 - University of Strathclyde, Scotland – Business
degree.
1962-1965 - University of Glasgow, Scotland. Masters degree.
Kate is married and has no children.
